Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing

I have officially fallen in love with this song. It's beautiful and moving. How true the lyrics are! I hope, on this rainy Sunday, to add to your day.
Posted is a link to the MoTab singing this on youtube and also the lyrics because your soul will want to sing along!

1. Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it
Mount of Thy redeeming love.

2. Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I've come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it.
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, O take and seal it;
Seal it for Thy courts above.

3. Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it.
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, O take and seal it;
Seal it for Thy courts above.

4. O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee;
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, O take and seal it;
Seal it for Thy courts above.

*SIGH*
Ahhh, sweet spirit. I hope you felt it too :)

  1. That was really pretty. Thanks for sharing. Nothing quite as majestic as the MoTab raising their collective voices in song. Although I am going to have to research that phrase, "Here I raise my Ebenezer..." What on earth does that mean do you think?

  2. O Taleah! This has been my favorite song for the longest time. Not only because it is the absolute prettiest but, like you said, the lyrics are true. I especially like in Verse 2, lines 5 & 6. That is how I feel ALL the time.
